Summor’s House & Pet Sitting Service is looking for Dog Walkers, Assistant Pet Sitters, and Scoop Assistants. This is meant for part-time work to supplement your existing income. As such, please DO NOT apply if you are looking for this as a full-time wage; it can be a great supplemental income for the right person (e.g. student, musician, dog lover, etc.).

Animal lovers are a MUST and pet care experience (e.g. dog walker/pet sitting experience, volunteering in a shelter, working in a doggy daycare/kennel or vet, etc.) is preferred.

Responsibilities (Midday Dog Walker):

• Responsible for client’s pets, their healthcare and well-being
• Management of client’s needs and preferences
• Walk dogs one at a time (or in a group, per Client's preference) and log your visit on their Service Calendar
• Basic home maintenance, including rotating lights and blinds, bringing in mail and newspapers, and home security checks
• Dog Walkers typically serve a regular roster of clients each week who all live in the same neighborhoods
• Work may be available mornings, afternoons and evenings (until 6pm) Monday - Friday, however, weekend walks may be applicable
• Generous commission if you bring in new clients, but bringing in clients is not required

Responsibilities (Pet Sitter - Midday Visit):

• Responsible for client’s pets, their healthcare and well-being
• Management of client’s needs and preferences
• Provision for food and water for all pets; scoop litter box/cage cleaning (if applicable); potty break (if servicing dogs); Cuddles and TLC; log your visit on their Service Calendar (if applicable) OR provide "Invoice Notes" for out-of-town clients
• Basic home maintenance, including rotating lights and blinds, bringing in mail and newspapers, and home security checks
• Pet Sitters for Midday Visits typically serve a variety of clients
• Work may be available mornings, afternoons and evenings (until 6pm) seven days per week
• Generous commission if you bring in new clients, but bringing in clients is not required

Responsibilities (Pet Sitter - Overnight Visit):

• Responsible for client’s pets, their healthcare and well-being
• Management of client’s needs and preferences
• Stay overnight in client's home; provision for food and water for all pets (evening and morning meals); scoop litter box/cage cleaning (if applicable); potty breaks and at least one dog walk (if servicing dogs); LOTS of Cuddles and TLC; provide "Invoice Notes" (if applicable)
• Basic home maintenance, including rotating lights and blinds, bringing in mail and newspapers, home security checks, and taking out trash
• Pet Sitters for Overnight Visits typically serve a regular roster of clients whenever they travel
• Work may be available every day of the week, including weekends, and ALL Overnight Visits are from 8pm - 8am
• Generous commission if you bring in new clients, but bringing in clients is not required

Responsibilities (Pet Sitter - Extended Day Care):

• Responsible for client’s pets, their healthcare and well-being
• Management of client’s needs and preferences
• Around the clock DAY CARE in client's home; provision for food and water for all pets (midday or early evening meals); scoop litter box/cage cleaning (if applicable); potty breaks and at least one dog walk (if servicing dogs); EVEN MORE Cuddles and TLC; provide "Invoice Notes" (if applicable)
• Basic home maintenance, including rotating lights and blinds, bringing in mail and newspapers, home security checks, and taking out trash
• Pet Sitters for Extended Day Care sessions typically serve a regular roster of clients whenever they travel
• Work may be available every day of the week, including weekends. EACH Extended Day Care session is from 9am - 4pm, and the Pet Sitter MUST be available this entire time. (These visits are RARE and are usually for elderly pets, kittens/puppies, or animals that require special around the clock care)
• Generous commission if you bring in new clients, but bringing in clients is not required

Responsibilities (Scoop Assistants):

• Management of client’s needs and preferences
• Responsible for scooping poop in client’s front and/or back yard; proper disposal of waste per company standards
• Scoop Assistants typically serve a variety of clients on specific days of the week, depending on the service day for that area of town
• Work may be available every day of the week, including weekends
• Generous commission if you bring in new clients, but bringing in clients is not required

General Responsibilities / Requirements (Dog Walkers, Pet Sitters, Scoop Assistants):

• MUST truly love animals!!!! (e.g. dogs of all sizes, cats, birds, ferrets, small caged animals, etc.)
• MUST be a person of excellent character and integrity
• MUST pass an extensive background check
• MUST be reliable
• MUST be responsive
• MUST be timely
• MUST have a cell phone
• MUST have reliable transportation and proof of current registration and insurance
  (You will not be required to transport pets; just driving to/from appointments)
• MUST have a current driver’s license
• MUST be able to work in U.S.
• MUST live in Kansas City, MO/KS or a Surrounding Community (MO or KS side) during the entire year (including summer months)
• MUST provide at least 2 business and 2 personal letters of recommendation
• Daily access to a computer, with Internet
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Cold/Snow/Humidity/Rain Resilient
• Clean Criminal/Driving Record
• US Citizenship
• Prior experience with animals in a professional setting preferred
• Must be available everyday, including weekends
  Please note, although we prefer you to be available everyday, your Sitter schedule will not require you to work everyday. Should you be invited to join our team, your Sitter Schedule can be worked around your current schedule (i.e. classes, etc.)
